The Great Clermont Triathlon International Distance Race qualifies the top 33% per age group for the USAT Age Group National Championship in Tuscaloosa, AL on September 25, 2010.

Best of the U.S. Competition

Once again, the Great Clermont Triathlon International Distance Race is excoted to serve as the official Florida Qualifier for the Best of the U.S. Amateur Triathlete Championship.  The top three overall male and female Florida Finishers in the International Distance race will qualify.  Click on the logo above for more details.

Course Information

Super Sprint Course:

SWIM - The 200 yard swim course is a rectangular shaped course in Lake Minneola.  Swimmers will swim parallel to shore and a time trial start will be utilized.  Because of our record cold winter, the projected water temperature is expected to be in the low 60's.  

BIKE - The 7.4 mile bike course travels clockwise around Lake Minneola COURSE MAP

RUN -  The run course is a 2 mile out and back run on the South Lake Trail.   COURSE MAP

Short & Long Course:

SWIM - The 750 meter swim course is a triangular shaped course in Lake Minneola.  Swimmers will swim counter-clockwise, keeping all buoys on their left.  Short course swimmers will complete one lap of this course and long course swimmers will complete two laps. Because of our record cold winter, the projected water temperature is expected to be in the mid 60's.  COURSE MAP

BIKE - The bike course travels counter-clockwise around Lake Minneola then turns up Jalarmy Road to Cherry Lake Road.  The Cherry Lake Road portion has rolling hills and that portion of the bike course is an out and back segment.  There are separate turnaround points on Wilson Lake Parkway for the short and International Distance courses. Long course cyclists also have a turnaround point on Cherry Lake Road before returning to Lake Minneola.  Once at Lake Minneola cyclists proceed counter-clockwise around the lake to finish.  COURSE MAP

RUN -  The run course is a 5K out and back run on the South Lake Trail.  10K Runners complete two laps of the 5K course.  COURSE MAP

Clermont's Waterfront Park - "World Triathlon Destination"

Directions - Clermont is located 20 minutes west of Orlando at the intersection of US HWY 27 and State Road 50. From State Road 50 in Clermont, take East Avenue north one mile to Palm Avenue and the entrance to Waterfront Park. Waterfront Park is on the southern shores of Lake Minneola.

9:45am TriKidz Race briefing - Mandatory for all kids & parents.
10:00am TriKidz Youth Triathlon START!  Start times vary with age and distance. 
10:00am - 5:00pm Packet Pick-up and Late Registration and the Great Clermont Sports & Fitness Festival
1:30pm FREE Transition Clinic Sponsored by Tri Motion Sports

Late Registration is avialable online until midnight. Friday night, and all day Saturday at Waterfront Park.

 

 

Awards:

SUPER SPRINT TRI: Our Super Sprint Triathlons are designed as a family fun triathlon, similar to a triathlete's version of a fun run, so awards are not presented.

SHORT & LONG COURSE:  Top three overall, top masters, and the top five in each division, male and female.

Volunteers:

Be part of all the excitement at one of Sommer Sport's events. Your support is always welcome! Whether you have just a couple of hours to spare, or the entire day, your help will make a difference.
